SHAZAM! First Official Look

Credit: Warner Bros / DC Entertainment / Entertainment Weekly

Warner Bros has given us a first official look at the upcoming SHAZAM film. As you can see in the picture, Zachary Levi's SHAZAM is joined by his best friend Freddy Freeman, played by Jack Dylan. I love this picture because not only does the costume look super comic accurate, but it shows they are really leaning into something that made the comic very endearing. Even though SHAZAM is magically an adult, his mind is still that of the child Billy Batson. Hopefully, we will see some footage from this at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. Spider Man Steve Ditko died at age 90

It’s with a heavy heart that we report this.

The New York Police Department confirmed his death to The Hollywood Reporter. No cause of death was announced. Ditko was found dead in his apartment on June 29 and it is believed he died about two days earlier.

In 1961, Ditko and Lee created Spider-Man. Lee, the editor-in-chief at Marvel Comics, gave Ditko the assignment after he wasn't satisfied with Jack Kirby's take on the idea of a teen superhero with spider powers. The look of Spider-Man — the costume, the web-shooters, the red and blue design — all came from Ditko. . Ditko helped create such classic Spider-Man characters as Doctor Octopus, Sandman, the Lizard and Green Goblin. Along with many other Marvel main stays.

Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick are back with more of their irreverent Adult Swim comedy, The Venture Brothers. The show will return to our screens on August 5th for its seventh season. Aside from Rick and Morty, the Venture Brothers is some of the best comedy that Adult Swim has to offer. Check out a short teaser scene from the new season and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

A new trailer for Shane Black's Predator movie has hit the internet. It looks like Black will be introducing us to a new evolution of the Predator for the first time in my memory (unless you count that terrible AVP Alien / Predator hybrid, which I don't). Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

E3 brought us a new look at Death Stranding and it still looks confusing as hell. Apparently, you play as some kind of delivery man. The plot still seems very confusing. Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment.

Power Rangers will be making their way to the Hasbro cinematic universe.

While it may not come as news to anyone, Hasbro is purchasing the rights for Power Rangers from Saban. The 522 million dollar deal is set to finalize any day, but the deal itself isn't what is most intriguing. Saban brand's chief and Power Ranger creator will serve as a consultant, moving forward with the franchise. Hasbro has stated that the first set of products will be available in Spring 2019. Hasbro chairman and CEO, Brian Goldner said, "Power Rangers is an iconic brand built on a heritage of great storytelling and merchandising with tremendous upside potential when fully executed across Hasbro's brand blueprint," upon announcing the deal. He also stated. "...it became clear that now was the time to begin investing in unlocking Power Rangers' full potential."

As long as Michael Bay stays away from this franchise, there is the potential to have a world Where I don't complain and the rangers thrive on TV and the Silver screen. Only time will tell. Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and as always, stay geeky!
